CASE STUDY

Highstreet Sportswear Retailer uses Energy Data to Save 20%

Client

Up and Running are a specialist sports retailer of shoes and other long-distance running equipment. The business operates 20 shops across the UK, including branches in London, Brighton and Edinburgh.

Need

With so many different sites, energy costs are high for the business. Given that each shop is managed by a different team, the business found it difficult to enforce and monitor energy management practices consistently.

Result

In an attempt to address the heating and cooling-related energy waste, as well as to level out performance across the different branches, Up and Running began an inter-site energy saving competition.

Each store manager was given access to their energy data, which aided competition for maximum efficiency between stores.

Through these changes, Up and Running was able to save 20% on their total energy consumption across all 20 UK shops.
