CASE STUDY

Restaurant Group Uses Energy Data to Validate Bills and Incentivise Staff Energy Saving

Client

JKS is a successful restaurant group based in London. With experience in private equity and Michelin star restaurants, the three founders (siblings Jyotin, Karam and Sunaina Sethi) began JKS in 2008 and now operate 22 restaurants in London, including Hoppers, BAO, Trishna, Gymkhana and Sabor.

Need

As a large kitchen with both indoor and outdoor dining, as well as entertainment screening facilities, Brigadiers has considerable energy needs.

The business’s large site means that their energy bill does not show a) where energy is being wasted or b) where energy has been successfully saved through operational changes and maintenance work.

Result

Holly Letch, Sustainability Manager at JKS Restaurants, describes how GridDuck’s system provided “a case study of how much energy (and therefore money) one can save by properly maintaining equipment”, which she believes is “an incredibly useful example to be able to share with [her] team to incentivise savings in other areas of the business.”

Furthermore, Letch highlights the importance of being able to “cross-check” Brigadiers usage against their energy bill using GridDuck. She states: “GridDuck helps us to ensure everything is accurate and up to date”.
