Drinkware Retailer Reduces Warehouse Energy Usage by 27%

Client

Drinkstuff is an online retailer of bar, glassware, tableware and catering equipment for both homes and businesses. They are based in the UK and stock over 20,000 products from a variety of top brands.

 
 
 

Need

Drinkstuff have a large warehouse with significant energy needs across specialised and more general building infrastructure. Areas of consumption include HVAC; electric charging for internal electric vehicles such as forklifts; lighting; conveyor belts; packaging machines and automated shutter doors. 

The business also has onsite renewable energy generation in the form of solar PV roof panels.

Result

Drinkstuff’s overall energy usage reduced from 11,609 kWh in October 2021 to 8,460 kWh in October 2022 despite introducing more electric vehicles on the site. 

Nathan Goodwin, Drinkstuff’s Warehouse Supervisor, explains how “the energy usage should have increased”, however, Drinkstuff instead saw a 27% annual reduction of energy usage after installing GridDuck.
